rate having tanked. in fact tanked so badly it is the talk of the industry. that all happened between 6:30 and 6:45 this morning. the white house taking aim at past action on global warming. yesterday the administration announcing it was going to repeal emissions from power plants put in place by president obama. if it feels like president is rolling back more of his predecessor's actions than past presidents. is he. deads let's talk about with dave from axios. so much to wade through 7:30 in the morning. we'll start with that last question we had there. it seems this president is trying to roll back anything the former president did. is that too much out of the norm from what we've seen in the past with an administration a party change. >> biggest it's personal for trump right. he sort of got into politics by speaking out against obama. we had the birth they are issue. everything obama did was an over reach of power. was going in the wrong dire direction. and so we've reported that actually when somebody in his administration proposes something he'll say it wasas
that an obama rule if it was he's more likely to say let's get rid of there's a personal motivation there. it has happened in the past. president obama came in and took away some of the mandates the bush administration had put in place. you don't feel that was per personal. little different this time around. >> for obama he did run against bush's legacy. that was a big part of his campaign 2008 we'll make a clean break from the past eight years. once he got in he certainly didn't make a point of saying this was a push thing and we're going wipe it out. they had very different views of american politics and so it's always going to happen when republicans replaces a democrat, democrat replaces a republican they go in opposite directions. i think it's less of let's wipe thing out specifically because the past administration. >> the tag line for this movie this time it's personal. >> that's right exactly. >> unfortunately. let's talk about some of the specifics now. climate change has been a big issue right now. climate issues have been big issue. the
lot of attention. now we're back on to that climate change -- climate train i should say. >> exactly. so this was a big obama legacy prove. 2015 he said, you know, we're going to finally take big action on climate change. this had to do with reducing emissions from power plants. he went out to glacier in alaska and gave a big -- he women out with bear grylls the survivor guy and started talking about, you know, this is when we're final going to take action on climate change and now trump is -- his administration is p planning to if they can basically wipe out that move. >> so let me try to put this into bigger picture before we get to this morning's tweets. the president might say that again but now congress, what's congress' take on this. is the president able to work with congress because after the bob corker incident over the weekend, it seems like now it's not just workings with democrats that might be strained but workings with the republican faithful who are there. i get the president wanted to things his own way but can you really do something your own
against everybody else who is working in washington from either party? >> one example of this is trump's budget was, you know, huge slashes across the board except for the military and then congress stepped in and said we're not going to do that. so they're definitely not going along with everything that trump says he has not many personal relationships on the hill bob corker was something he got along with pretty well for awhile. that's now gone away, and so, yeah, that relationship is severed or severing. >> do you think that bob corker because he's on his way out is speaking just for himself or does he now green lighting for other established republicans now saying, i know you guys can't say anything because you still have to work witness president but i don't have to so i'm going to speak on your behalf. ? is it that type of situation. >> he said it is. he said in the new york city interview, i think trump is dangerous. i think he's hurting u.s. interests and so do most of my republican colleagues in the senate. it's not exactly a, you know, a movement that's going to grow very quickly w
graham criticized trump in the past yesterday go golfing with him and say trump shot a 73. what great player he is. not everybody is willing to take corker stance. >> let's talk about the tweets we already had the president this morning and mentioned he's going after this morning before 7:00 a.m. democrats, the congress, espn, tack issues. what sticks today? what are we going to be talking about the rest of the day today. >> i thought the most interesting thing that he tweeted the health care move. he said in the past that when obama had the pen and phone strategy congress won't pass what i want i'm going to do it myself, he was, you know, very actively opposed to that. now he's saying the same thing on health care. he can't obviously repeal and replace obamacare on his own there are things deck with the margins that could have a pretty big impact. >> that's the wait and see factor for now. we shall see what happens. dave thanks for joining us from axios. it is 7:36 right now. tucker turn things over to you. >> steve, another unseasonably warm day. in fact we'll be right back in
